Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The cathedral was built on the remains of the Roman baths, on the grounds were the baptistery and the first Christian cathedral was built in the 5th century AD. Centuries later the cathedral underwent some major alterations. The cathedral bell tower is one of the recognisable symbols of the city, with the angel sitting proudly on top.
