Krk Food Fest
Krk Food Fest is traditionally held on the island Krk every year at spring and autumn. Fresh scampi, fish and baby lamb, Krk prosciutto, olive oils, homemade cheese combine with the seasonal plants such as wild asparagus, broad beans, samphire, and other spring plants are used to prepare delicious dishes.
During the festival, restaurants adapt their offers to local seasonal ingredients. Explore the flavours of the local Krk cuisine and taste some of its specialties such as: frittata or “šurlice” with wild asparagus, nettle soup, “brodetto” with dried octopus, delicious pancakes with sheep curd and honey, lamb rolls made with vine leaves…
Fig Days
The fig, sweet taste fruit with a soft and chewy texture, has been feeding people in the Mediterranean for centuries. In the honor of this Mediterranean fruit, the gastronomical event Fig Days are held in the city of Krk at the end of the August.
During the Fig Days restaurant offers delicious dishes made with figs, and at the Vela placa square several workshops are organized and local farmers are selling their products made with fig. In the afternoon hours, at the Vela Placa square, the entertaining program begins.
